Leave of absence and reinstatement

Students can check the details of leave of absence and reinstatement and apply for it in the Overall Information Service within the designated period in accordance with the academic schedule.

  • General leave of absence is permitted up to 4 times during the enrollment period and it can be taken continuously. In case students wish to extend the leave of absence, the application for postponing the leave of absence must be done during the application period.
  • Geabsenceneral leave of absence cannot be taken during the semester. However, in case of absence of leave for illness, leave of for pregnancy, child birth and child raising, overseas training permitted by the Dean and participation in conference, it shall be excluded.
  • In case of taking general leave of absence before the mid-term examination, the registration fee that has been paid will be replaced with the semester of reinstatement and in case of taking general leave of absence after mid-term examination, the registration fee cannot be replaced and the semester would not be completed.
  • In case the semester providing the subject not acquired by the credit registrant contracts, student must apply for leave of absence for one semester (6 months). (adjusted leave of absence for semester)
  • New and transfer students cannot apply for leave of absence for family reasons in the first semester.

Reinstatement

  • Those whose leave of absence period is expired has to apply with the application period of reinstatement of the semester concerned.
  • Reinstatement is permitted for the semester in which leave of absence has been applied for in principle. However, students can return in another semester according to the students’ request.
  • In case 1/4 of the lecture days in the semester concerned has passed, reinstatement shall not be permitted.
  • Those taking leave of absence for military enlistment has to return within 1 year after discharge and those who are discharged before the obligatory service period has to report to the Academic Affairs Management Department immediately and has to return to the semester of the year concerned after being designated with reinstatement year and semester. However, those who are discharged before the obligatory service period but does not report and return but instead wishes to return in the semester in which the leave of absence ends shall not be permitted and shall be dis-enrolled.
  • Students who are returning must pay all registration fees of the semester concerned within the designated period after reinstatement permission has been granted and has to apply for lecture.
